A continuously working press for the production of chipboard or fibreboard or similar has pivotted heating panels (30) between roller systems (17) at the inlet (11) of the machine. A curved compacting area (a) preceeding a straight compression area (b) falls between the heating panels (30), and the high pressure zone begins at (e) at the press table. The roller rods (12) in the lining up area (c) are under increased flexible pressure from a spring plate (19), and between the roller rods (12) and the spring plate (19) is a flexible pressure holding covering plate (16). USE/ADVANTAGE - The inlet area machinery is flexible to take varying thicknesses of material.
