PURPOSE:To print characters and images without a defect even with a change in resolving power to obtain a high resolving power by a method wherein an ink supply path that can be connected to ink flow paths is made of an ink supply path that can be disconnected from a part of the ink flow paths in accordance with the rotating position of a printing head. CONSTITUTION:An ink supply path 11 is made of an ink supply path that can be disconnected from a part of ink flow paths 8 in accordance with the rotating position of a printing head 4. When a main scanning direction is set at right angles to the arrangement direction of nozzles 7, the disconnection of the ink supply path 11 from a part of the ink flow paths 8 results in an ink supply to all the nozzles 7 but a nozzle 7a, and an image is formed by the other nozzles 7b correspondingly to a printing width D. On the other hand, when the printing head 4 is rotated and the main scanning direction is set at an angle of 90-theta degrees to the arrangement direction of the nozzles 7, the connection of the ink supply path 11 to all the ink flow paths 8 allows an ink supply to all the nozzles 7. |
