The shaft of the e.g. printer, has its ends located in a special bearing (2) which has a snap fastening in the slot (6) cut into the top of the support wall (1). The sides of the slot are parallel and with two cut-outs (9,10) into which sprung retainers (15,16) attached to the bearing are clipped. The spring-loaded retainers have ratchet profiles to grip the cut-outs and the bearing is clipped into place in a simple action. To release the bearing the spring clips are pressed together by a special tool.
