The rotary grinding wheel turning roller has diamonds on the peripheral surface(s) (12,13). The embedded diamonds are in needle form (15,16) protruding obliquely from the surface, with their free end (17,18) overlapping in the peripheral direction. They are pref. on two conical surfaces, intersecting at an outer peripheral line (14), while each free needle end protrudes over the other surface.
