PURPOSE:To drastically save the capacity of a storage device or an external auxiliary storage device and to shorten time for data communication between two devices by storing a GT code allocated to a product/work unit to be data in a production control system as compressed data instead of a character string consisting of 10 to 20 digits. CONSTITUTION:A GT code 6 to be compressed expresses the characteristics of a product to be produced and a sort code(CC) is allocated to each item such as the number of products, a material and a process procedure. A coding rule is calculated by inputting the number of CCs 1 to be the number of CC in each item to a code conversion constant calculating part 2, multiplying respective values from lower items up to the item just preceding the item concerned to find out a code conversion constant 3 and stores the CC number 1 and the code conversion constant 3 necessary for compressing processing into a coding rule storing part 4. Then, a code compressing processing part 7 forms compressed data 8 in a coding rule 5 stored in the storage part 4 and a compressed data storing part 9 stores the data 8. Then the rule 5 in the storing part 4 and the compressed data 8 in the storing part 9 are inputted to a data restoring processing part 10 and restored into a GT code 11, which is stored in a GT code storing part 12. |
