The photovoltaic system has a solar generator with a number of modules (1, 1', 1'') connected in series or parallel, and a DC/AC converter (2, 2', 2'') within each module (1, 1', 1'') allowing the obtained DC voltage to be converted into an AC feed voltage for the mains network (4). Pref. the photovoltaic system is coupled to the mains network (4) via a central monitoring and control device (3) receiving the data from the individual modules (1, 1', 1'') via a common data bus (5). - The control device (3) pref. has independently operated modular power and control stages.
