The map or town plan is printed on a sheet of flexible material such as paper or plastic and can be folded to a convenient size. The map or town plan can be unfolded in two stages. When unfolded in the first stage a small scale map of the whole country or plan of the town is revealed. Each quarter (1,2,3,4) of this partly unfolded map or plan can be further unfolded to provide a larger scale map or plan (7) of the area covered by the unfolded quarter of the small scale map or plan.
