PURPOSE:To obtain the subject display element exhibiting chromophoric activity formerly not existed, having clear indicating color by using a specific thiophene derivative of PE as an organic semiconductive element. CONSTITUTION:A thiophene derivative of PE expressed by formula I (m>=3 and n>=3) is used as an organic semiconductive element to afford the objective display element. In synthesizing said derivative, at first, a thiophene oligomer is converted to an aldehyde by Billsmeyer reaction and converted to vinyl by Wittig reaction to synthesize a vinylthiophene oligomer expressed by formula II, then said oligomer is polymerized to afford the objective derivative. |
