<p>PURPOSE:To perform safer and surer assist control by stopping the assist control by stopping generation of assist torque through a motor, when an abnormal condition, where a mean value of output signals of main and sub torque sensors are shifted from a reference value, is continued for a predetermined time. CONSTITUTION:In an electrically-operated power steering device, assist torque to assist is drawn out by a control circuit 11 based on an output of a torque sensor 6 and a car speed, and assist control of steering is performed by setting a driving current of a motor 7. The torque sensor 6 comprises a main torque sensor 21 and a subtorque sensor 22 having equal characteristic, and both the torque sensors 21, 22 are connected in a condition of reverse polarity to each other to positive and negative terminals 23a, 23b of the same DC power supply. Here in the control circuit, a mean value of each sensor output is calculated, and in the case that this mean value is not equal to a reference value, any abnormality is judged generated to compare a count value Fc of a fail counter with a preset value Q. When decision for whether a relation is Fc<Q or not is NO, the assist control is stopped.</p> |
