PURPOSE:To achieve a high energy density and a long battery life by comprising a primary layer of lead or lead alloy and a secondary layer of reaction material on the surface of powdery grains having an acid resistance and an oxidation resistance. CONSTITUTION:Active material comprising a core of an acid-resistant and oxidation-resistant powdery grain, and a primary layer of lead or lead allow and a secondary layer of reaction material on the surface of it is used, where the secondary layer comprises lead dioxide for a positive pole, and spongy lead for a negative pole. As the reaction material exists only on the surface of the active material grains, the energy density can be high, and because the primary layer of lead or lead allow exists, charging can be achieved smoothly if lead dioxide or spongy lead in the secondary layer is all discharged to be lead sulfate. The energy density can thus be high, and the service life can be long. |
