<p>PURPOSE:To enable automatic program search reproduction by searching a recording medium for index information corresponding to a selected program and making a program search reproduction for the retrieved program. CONSTITUTION:A cursor display means 8 display each program in a list with a cursor, which is moved by a cursor moving means 9. When the program to be reproduced is selected, the cursor is moved to the desired program, which is selected by a program selecting means 10. The index of the program selected by the program selecting means 10 is compared by an index retrieving means 11 with index information read out by an index reading means 5 to detect their matching. When the matching is detected, a program search reproducing means 12 starts reproduction at the current position. Consequently, the corresponding program is only selected from program contents in reproduction to automatically perform the program search reproduction.</p> |
