PURPOSE:To stop an NC unit and to announce abnormality by an alarm, etc., by comparing the detection signal of a sensor head section which detects the light at the tip of a nozzle with a preset reference voltage to detect defective cutting. CONSTITUTION:The sensor head section 1 captures the light generated on the surface of a work W during laser beam processing, converts this light to a sensor signal and sends this signal to a detecting section 3. A defective cutting detecting section 17 judges whether the cutting is normal cutting or defective cutting from the sensor signal sent from an input amplifier 15. If the sensor signal amplified by a gain B in the cutting exceeds the reference voltage V-G and if the duration time thereof is >=(t), judgment is made that the defective cutting, such as gauging or burning, arises. The defective cutting signal is then detected and is outputted to an NC output section 19. The NC output section 19 sends the detection signal of the defective cutting to the control section of the NC unit 23. The NC unit 23 stops the processing in accordance with this signal and announces the defective cutting by the alarm, etc. |
