The component (2) is inserted in shuttering for a concrete wall etc so as to secure reinforcing bars to be incorporated in it, and has two flanges and a bottom, through which the bars are passed, so that their anchoring portions are on one side of a chamber formed by the component and their connecting ones, to be bent outwards for joining to a connecting concrete component later, are on the other. Between the flanges the bottom has a portion running in the lengthwise direction and of dovetail cross-section. One or more raised sections (16) are formed on this portion. This can be formed by an indentation from the outside.
