The valve body (4) carries the coil (2) and armature (8) of the electromagnet which drives the plunger (9) into a thin-walled coaxial sleeve (17). A disc-shaped transverse wall (18) carries the valve seating. After the stroke of the valve has been adjusted, the sleeve (17), which incorporates ports (29, 30) for the hydraulic fluid, is fixed to a projection (14) from the valve body. ADVANTAGE - Axial length is reduced with a magnetic circuit subassembly which can be subjected separately to functional tests. A seating-and-sleeve subassembly can be secured after residual gap adjustment.
