METHOD AND COMPOSITION FOR CONTROLLING PROLIFERATION OF CELLS

A method and composition for reversibly increasing the proliferation of cells in vitro. Cell populations are treated in vitro with antisense oligonucleotides to a tumor suppressor gene, such as the retinoblastoma (Rb) gene. Such treatment inhibits expression of the tumor suppressor gene product and results in a reversible increse in the proliferation of the cell population.
