Producing laminar wood type sheet - by gluing sides of continuous core of glued wooden strips, applying fabric to each side and pressing in double band press

The sheet is produced by applying chips or fibres on both sides of a continuous belt of wooden strips which are glued and pressed together. The assembly is then continuously pressed in double band press to form endless sheet. During the process, a fabric or mesh is first fed to each glued side of the core material before the chips and/or fibres are added, and the complete five-ply assembly is pressed into the final product. The fabric/mesh material is preferably treated first with an isocyanate adhesive before use. ADVANTAGE - Process ensures firm bonding between the centre core material and the covers. It produces sheets with perfectly flat surfaces even if the core material is not flat. The sheets produced can be further improved by surfacing e.g. with fabrics etc. so that chips/fibres will not sink into knot holes, cracks, cuts, etc..
