The output of an accelerometer (2) and pressure transducer (3) are fed to a processor (1) which produces the signals (s) to be fed to the display unit (4). The pressure transducer is mounted on the ship's keel and detects changes in pressure as the sea swells along the ship's side. The accelerometer and pressure transducer outputs are combined by circuits known as Lunenberger Observers or Kalman filters, which include summers (5, 7, 9), integrators (6, 8) and multipliers (10, 11). |
