A partly made food product 4 is advanced by a conveyor belt 2 under a chamber 6 adapted to dispense carbon dioxide snow. The floor of the chamber 6 comprises a screen or grid 22 of wire mesh secured to a plate 24 having dispensing apertures 26 disposed therein. A blade or wiper 28 (not shown in Figure 1) may be used to urge carbon dioxide snow through that part of the grid overlying a dispensing aperture 26 under which the product 4 is positioned. A controlled amount of carbon dioxide snow may be so dispensed onto a chosen region of the surface of the product 4, thereby freezing or setting the surface. <IMAGE> |
