<p>A hollow fiber mass transfer apparatus has a casing (11) having inlet and outlet ports (23, 24) for dialyzing liquid. A bundle (13) of hollow fibers (12) is housed in the casing (11). Two partition members (14, 15) hold the bundle (13) without closing the openings of the hollow fibers (12). Two funnel-like headers (16, 17) surround the openings of the hollow fibers (12). Blood, for example, passes from the frusto-conical portion (16B) of the header (16) through the fibers (12) and out from the inverted frusto-conical portion (17B) of the header (17). In the header 16, the inner diameter D of the fitting portion (16A) and the height H between the fitting portion (16A) and frusto-conical portion (16B) has a relationship: 0.8 </= H/D </= 1.2. <IMAGE></p> |
