PURPOSE:To make the direction of magnetic orientation uniform by a method wherein, when an R-Fe-B magnet is subjected to plastic deformation by conducting a hot processing after it has been quenched into an amorphous state, the degree of freedom of relief of the stress to be added is reduced. CONSTITUTION:First, the powder obtained by quenching is hot-molded into a rectangular parallelepiped member in width (a), length (b) and height (c). Then, using a processing method 10 consisting of a trapezoidal part having a rectangular part about aXb of inside size and the part adjacent to it having the angle (theta) of 45 deg. to 85 deg., a swaging and hot working is conducted on the processing mold having the rectangular part of the same size and shape the rectangular parallelepiped member to be processed is used, the part located at the rectangular part of the processing mold, among the parts of the member to be processed which come in contact with the upper and the lower punches 2 and 2' provided in the processing mold in a vertically movable manner, is in common before and after the conduction of the swaging and hot working. Accordingly, the relief of stress added to the rectangular parallelepiped member to be processed when a swaging and hot working is conducted thereon, is generated outside the above-mentioned part held in common, the stress is used in the hot working of the rectangular parallelepiped member to be processed with a small loss. |
