PURPOSE:To release, without troubles, upper and lower rolls from their services in a rolling mill, and to rearrange the rolls by giving a prescribed critical pressure for preventing slip between the work roll and a backup roll by using a bending cylinder at the time of roll rearrangement. CONSTITUTION:Pressing forces for preventing slip are respectively given between work rolls 3, 6 and backup rolls 1, 8 by using bending cylinders 10, 11 of the work rolls 3, 6. And the pressure of a rolling reduction cylinder 14 of the backup roll 8 is decreased in relation to the increase of the pressing force. Accordingly, a roll rearrangement is performed without stopping a rolling mill. |
