PURPOSE:To obtain a high density titanium boride sintered body by a conventional sintering under ordinary pressure at a low cost by using the silicide of a group IVA element as a sintering aid when a titanium boride sintered body is produced. CONSTITUTION:Titanium boride powder is sintered with the silicide of a group IVA element as a sintering aid. One or more among ZrSi, ZrSi2, TiSi, TiSi2 and HfSi2 may be used as the silicide and the amt. of the sintering aid used is preferably regulated to <=10wt.% of the total amt. of the titanium boride powder and the sintering aid. |
