1511630 Reinforced hydraulic hose INDUSTRIE PIRELLI SpA 26 Nov 1976 [27 Nov 1975] 49475/76 Heading F2P An hydraulic hose comprises two reinforcing plies 4, 6 each comprising a plurality of parallel wires wound helically with the wires of the two plies wound in opposite directions, the two plies being spaced apart by an intermediate layer 5 of elastomeric material having a thickness of less than 0À25 mm. and a hardness between 72 and 76 Shore A. Preferably each wire is a single filament having a diameter in the range 0À12 to 0À25 mm. In the arrangement shown there is an inner layer 2 and an outer layer 7 also of elastomeric material and a woven or non-woven fabric layer 3 between the layer 2 and the inner ply 4. Each ply comprises the same or substantially the same number of wires, e.g. 60. The density of the wires as considered in relation to the cross-sectional area of the hose wall in the longitudinal direction of the hose may be between 40 and 95%, and the distance between the axes of adjacent wires measured in the longitudinal direction of the hose between 0À15 and 0À76 mm. The wires may be zinc plated or brass coated. |
