PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material which is excellent in the thermal responsive property and high in the coloring sensitivity by a method wherein for the thermal recording material which contains a dye precursor and an electron acceptive compound coloring the dye precursor by reacting with the dye precursor in heating, a specific compound is contained. CONSTITUTION:For a thermal recording material which contains a generally colorless or light color dye precursor and an electron acceptive compound (a developer) coloring the dye precursor by reacting with the dye precursor in heating, a compound as given by the formula I is contained. In the formula, n indicates a number of 0 or 1, and R indicates an aryl radical which may have a substituent, an aralkyl radical, an arylalkenyl radical, a 5C or less alkyl radical, and an alkenyl radical. Further, this compound can be synthesized by, for instance, reacting p-hydroxythiophenol with cinnamyl halide to synthesize thioether and then by reacting the obtained thioether with alkyl halide. Further, this compound is preferably added by on amount of especially 20-300wt.% to the developer. |
