PURPOSE:To allow broad processing of a photosensitive material for plate making having a lower coated amt. of silver by setting the melting time of one layer of nonphotosensitive upper layers at 1.2 to 1.8 times the melting time of photosensitive emulsion layers by using a specific hardener, then processing the layers with a specific reducing liquid. CONSTITUTION:The silver halide photographic sensitive body for plate making has at least one layer of the photosensitive silver halide emulsion layers and one layer of the nonphotosensitive upper layer on a base is formed by setting the melting time of at least one layer of the nonphotosensitive upper layers at 1.2 to 1.8 times the melting time of the photosensitive emulsion layers by using the combination of polymers having a functional group which can make crosslinking reaction with gelatin via this hardener or the high-polymer hardener. Such photosensitive material is subjected to at least exposing and development processing and is then processed by the reducing liquid contg. the ferric chelate compd. of 1, 3-diaminopropanetetraacetic acid. The wide reducing width and the excellent reduced film are obtd. without the residual colors and residues of the reduction even with the photosensitive material for plate making of the small coated amt. of silver. |
