PURPOSE:To form the desired image of a document from the prescribed position of a recording medium by providing a detecting means detecting the carrying position of the document and a first control means forming the desired image of the document from the prescribed position of the recording medium carried in the direction perpendicular to the carrying direction of the document at prescribed timing. CONSTITUTION:a resist roller 71a detecting the carrying quantity of the document in the direction perpendicular to the carrying direction of a recording sheet is provided inside an automatic document feeder 51. When the document is moved in the direction perpendicular to the carrying direction of the recording medium by a desired quantity by the automatic document feeder 51 according to the output of the resist roller 71a and placed, a controller 42 controls the carrying direction of the document and forms the desired image of the document from the prescribed position of the recording medium carried in the direction perpendicular to the carrying direction of the document at the prescribed timing. Thus, the image of a specified region in the original can be formed from the prescribed position of the recording medium. |
