PURPOSE:To improve the life of a binary developer and image characteristics and to reduce dependency on an environment by using as a magnetic carrier spherical ferrite particles roughened on each surface by microcrystals, and coating each of the carrier with a resin so as to disclose the peaks of the microcrystals. CONSTITUTION:The binary developer comprises a toner with a fine silica powder attached to its surface and the magnetic carrier of the spherical ferrite particles each roughened on the surface by the microcrystals and coated with the resin so as to disclose by the microcrystals and coated with the resin so as to disclose the peaks of the microcrystal. This carrier ha an apparent density of<= 2.7 g/cm<3>, and 0.90 >= R2/R1 >= 0.45, where R1 the carrier current value of the ferrite before coating and R2 is that after coating. |
