A closure for esp. pharmaceutical bottles consists of a stopper which is connected to the bottle neck and which, together with (part of) the neck is enclosed by a closure cap contg. a rupture disc connected to the cap top by a line of weakness and supported by a spacer against the stopper. The novelty is that the dia. (d) of the line of weakness (b) is greater than the outside dia. (d), of the spacer (146) on the stopper (2) and is greater than, equal to or slightly less than the dia. (d2) of the bottle neck (16). ADVANTAGE - The rupture disc can be removed by hand safely, easily and rapidly.
