PURPOSE:To obtain the smooth acceleration/deceleration corresponding to the accelerator operation when the shift schedule which is optimum for the low frictional coefficient road traveling is selected, by fixing the torque capacity to a high capacity side, in an auxiliary speed change device. CONSTITUTION:When the shift schedule which is optimum for the high frictional coefficient road traveling in an auxiliary speed change device (b) is selected by a shift schedule detecting means (d), the torque capacity variable control of a variable capacity torque converter (a) is carried out by a torque capacity control means (f), according to the vehicle state detected by a vehicle state detecting means (e) for detecting the vehicle state including the throttle opening degree. When the shift schedule which is optimum for the low frictional coefficient road traveling in the auxiliary speed change device (b) is selected by the shift schedule detecting means (d), control for fixing the torque capacity of the variable capacity torque converter (a) to high capacity side is carried out independently of the vehicle state including the throttle opening degree. |
