This method of setting up bimetallic strips consists: - in measuring the distances (A, B, C) between the working point of the bimetallic strips and the point (O) for triggering an associated lock; - in producing a part (14) constituting two guide bars linked by linking regions (14a, 14b, 14c), equal in number to that of the bimetallic strips, perpendicular to them, and in mounting a differential lever (6) on the said part (14); - in placing the lever (6) against a bearing support (16) previously positioned with respect to the triggering point (O) at a predetermined distance (D); - in cutting out the linking regions (14a, 14b, 14c) from the part (14) at the various distances measured (A, B, C) on portions (18) corresponding to the thickness (e) of the bimetallic strips; - in mounting the two guide bars in the switch housing the bimetallic strips. <IMAGE>
