Prodn. of two- or three=dimensional decorative holograms - involves holographic original scanned in pixels or rows by laser beam and backed by photographic film

The object is imaged by a holographic optical element (7) through which the beam from a laser (1), Pockels cell (2) and two scanning mirrors (4,5) is projected onto a photosensitive film (8). The beam reconstructs from the element (7) a reference beam with which a corresp. hologram is produced in the film. The mirrors (4,5) and modulator (2) are controlled by a CAD system (6) with a keyboard (12). Information on e.g. the scanned regions of the element (7) is displayed on a monitor (11). ADVANTAGE - Holograms contg. desired sections of original object are produced from holographic optical element.
