The adjustable vice comprises an arm (8), parallel to the surface (11) on which the object is to be laid, but bent at right angles downwards into a vertical rod (9). At the free end of the arm (8) is a fixed or rotating clamp (1), and by loosening the milled knob (4), it is raised above the surface (11) by the pressure of a spring (6). The arm (8) is prevented from lateral twisting by a horizontal pin (3) which passes through the vertical rod (9) projecting from either side, and whose ends slide up and down in slots (2) in the rod housing.
