PURPOSE:To improve the sharpness, color reproducibility and sensitivity of a sensitive material and the fastness of a color image by forming the image with a specified yellow coupler. CONSTITUTION:This sensitive material contains a compd. represented by general formula I as a yellow coupler in a hydrophilic colloidal layer. In the formula I, R<1> is a group of nonmetallic atoms required to form a 5-membered unsatd. hetero ring, R<2> is H, an aliphatic group, etc., R<3> is an org. residue, X is a releasable group, A is an acidic dissociable group and (n) is an integer of >=1. A compd. represented by formula PI may be used as the yellow coupler represented by the formula I.
