PURPOSE:To simply synthesize an image focused to all subjects in a screen by automatically measuring the distance and brightness of each subject in a partial image of a divided area of the screen and setting up input and addition conditions. CONSTITUTION:An image inputted by an image pickup element 102 is divided into plural areas on the screen. An image signal outputted from the element 102 is converted into a digital signal by an A/D converter 103 and the digital signal is inputted to a contrast detection part 110. The range finding of plural subjects in respective partial images is executed by so-called contrast type autofocusing and the brightness of respective partial images is measured to set up an optimum input condition. Consequently, an image focused to all the subjects in the screen can simply be synthesized. |
