PURPOSE:To calculate an accurate prediction position in a short arithmetic time by predicting a future position of a subject according to the latest information among pieces of focus detection information which are calculated by sensation for a specific time and at least one of pieces of information obtained before last information. CONSTITUTION:A storage means 5a is stored with the pieces of focus detection information which are calculated by a focus detecting means 4 by sensation for the specific time. A subject position predicting means 5 predicts the future position of the subject according to the latest focus detection information among the pieces of focus detection information which are stored and at least one of past pieces of information sampled at least before the last information. Then a lens driving means 6 drives a photographic lens 1 according to the prediction result. Consequently, the accurate future subject position can be predicted in a short time by simple arithmetic processing. |
