The preferably profiled metal cut-out section (10) for a preferably four-sided container which is open on two opposite-facing sides, has weakened lines crosswise to the lengthwise edges, which reduce the moment of resistance. The transverse edges have closure tongues (17,18) and are formed of parallel outer and inner arms (12,13) positioned on the same plane. Each weaker line is formed of planimetric trapezoid cut-out pieces (150) spaced apart from each other and positioned directly next to the bending edge (11) determined by the cut-out pieces (15).
