HONEY-COATED CONFECTIONARY AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To obtain the subject confectionery, excellent in flavor and preservation quality without stickiness and useful for dietary life by forming a hard candy layer around an edible core material and then forming a honey-containing shape retaining layer around the aforementioned layer. CONSTITUTION:An edible core material (e.g. peanut) 2 is stirred in a constituent material for a hard candy layer 3 heated at, e.g. 140-160 deg.C and cooled to form the hard candy layer 3 around the aforementioned core material 2. The periphery of the resultant hard candy layer 3 is then coated with a mixture of honey with powder of a shape retaining material (e.g. active gluten or lactose) to form a honey-containing shape retaining layer 4 and afford the objective confectionery 1.
