Pneumatic trip mechanism for a water stop system of a water-conducting household appliance, e.g. a washing machine or a dishwasher, incorporates a pneumatic pressure pick-off for operating a safety valve in the water supply line. The mechanism also has a supply line (b) contg. a valve for well-directed feeding of leak water to a swelling element, which triggers off the pressure pick-off when hit by the leak water. In the normal operating state, the valve is closed and opens only when a specific releasing pressure is reached in the above mentioned supply line (b). ADVANTAGE - Unit is activated only in the event of a real disturbance.
