PURPOSE:To improve the reliability by forming an electrode on both principal faces of a stripe-shaped sintered porcelain but removing part of one principal face on an adhesive arranging part. CONSTITUTION:Either part of one principal face of an electrode 21 formed on both principal faces of a stripe-shaped PLZT sintered porcelain 22 constituting an optical shutter element is not formed on an adhesive sticking part A. Or one part where the electrode 21 is not formed is provided on each principal face. Consequently, electrostriction does not occur in the adhesive sticking part when PLZT sintered porcelains are arranged to produce the optical shutter element. Thus, breakdown does not occur on the boundary face between an adhesive and sintered porcelains to improve the reliability.
