PURPOSE:To obtain a deceleration and acceleration detector which does not respond to a deceleration and an acceleration equal to a prescribed magnitude or below and with a prescribed period or above by controlling the detector by the operation of a driving arm rotated by being supplied with the deceleration and the acceleration, the energizing force of a resilient member, the weight of a control means and the like. CONSTITUTION:The rotary position of a driving arm 6 rotatably supported by a base body 15 via a shaft is regulated by a regulating member 10. The driving arm 6 is fixedly mounted with a permanent magnet 8 to one end and a control member 9 for controlling a rotary operation to the other end. A resilient member 11 normally biases the driving arm 6 in a prescribed rotary direction to normally position the arm 6 in a rotation initiating position and makes a rotating force proportional to a rotary angle. The output voltage of a Hall device arranged in an arbitrary position on the rotary locus of the permanent magnet 8 is converted by converting means 13 to electric signals for controlling a given arbitrary device. By suitably adjusting the length between the rotating center of the driving arm and the permanent magnet or the control member, the weight of the permanent magnet and the control member and the magnitude of the energizing force of the resilient member, a detector is prevented from responding to a deceleration and an acceleration with long periods.
