<p>PURPOSE:To prevent a tape from being damaged by allowing a tape traveling system to add tension appropriate for the thickness of a tape used to the tape and allowing a tape thickness display part to clearly display the thickness of the tape used. CONSTITUTION:A tape thickness discrimination microswitch 26 becomes on or off according as a tape thickness discrimination hole 23 is closed or it penetrates through, and the display part 30 displays the thickness of the tape on the outer surface of a device which is completely viewed from the outside, for instance, a front part according as the microswitch 26 becomes on or off. By changing the output torque of a take-up reel motor 33 and a supply reel motor 34 according to the on/off of the microswitch 26, the torque is made low when the tape is thin and tension for the tape is optimized in accordance with the thickness of the tape. Thus, confirmation that the tape tension is optimum, the discrimination of the thickness of the tape which is being used and an operation in accordance with the thickness of the tape are accomplished, thereby preventing the tape from being damaged.</p> |
