PURPOSE:To eliminate the delay time difference between a luminance signal and a chroma signal and to prevent the color deviation of a reproduced picture by calculating the arithmetic mean of luminance signal systems after a field signal in an FM state is provisionally converted into a high frequency. CONSTITUTION:After the field signal with a frequency band width fc+fy reproduced repeatedly by a magnetic head 11 is amplified by an amplifier 11, it is supplied to the 1st frequency converter 12. Here it is mixed with a signal at a frequency f1 from a partial oscillator 13, and supplied to a 0.5 H delay line 15 and the 2nd frequency converter 18 as a sum signal component(fc+fy+f1) on a high frequency side. As a result the field signals delayed with 1H, 0 and 0.5 H by the 2nd frequency converters 17, 18 and 19 respectively, are outputted, and inputted to an adder circuit 20 through a high-pass filter 22 and a luminance signal processing circuit 23. It calculates the arthmetic mean of the inputted signals, and adds them to a field/frame conversion switch 21.
