PURPOSE:To obtain a superconductor by sintering without requiring attention especially to cooling rate after sintering by blending each specific salt of Y, Ba and Cu, burning, blending the burnt material with an Ag compound and burning. CONSTITUTION:An oxide, carbonate, nitrate, acetate, oxalate or alkoxide of yttrium, barium and copper are blended in an atomic ratio of Y, Ba and Cu of (1+ or -0.3):(2+ or -0.3):(3+ or -0.3). Then the blend is burnt at >=850 deg.C and cooled to give a burnt material, which is mixed with an Ag compound in an atomic ratio of 0.1-1.0 and burnt at 400-700 deg.C to give the objective superconductor. In the sintering to obtain the superconductor, the blend can be sintered at a lower temperature than a conventional procedure by addition of the Ag compound, attention to cooling rate after sintering is not required, cracks are not produced at grain boundary of molded article of the sintered material and molded articles useful for practical use are obtained. |
