NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by formula I (R is H or 2-hydroxyethyl). EXAMPLE:p-Hydroxy-N,N-bis(2-hydroxyethyl)cinnamamide. USE:A melanin suppressive agent for treating and remedying stains, freckles, pigmentation after sunburn and returning the affected skin to the normal skin by applying the agent to the affected skin locally. PREPARATION:An acetoxycinnamic acid halogenide shown by formula II (X is halogen) is reacted with a mono- or diethanolamine shown by formula III in the presence of a deoxidizer at -10-30 deg.C. Then the reaction product is deacetylated with ammonia, a primary or secondary amine in a solvent such as methanol, etc., at 30-60 deg.C to give a compound shown by formula I. |
