The apparatus maintains a regular tension of a driving chain connected to the lower face of an elevating vehicle and its balancing weight, and also interlocking the driving chain with the vehicle and the weight. The apparatus comprises a motr (6) located at a lower end of the elevating passage (1) a driving sprocket (9) fixed to a shaft (8) of the driving motor, a lower bracket (13) fixed to the other lower end of the passage (1), support bolts (14) inserted into either side of the lower bracket, another bracket (19) fixed to the upper part of the support bolt, a shaft (23) rotatably equipped in the center of the upper bracket (19) and a slave sprodset (24) fixed to the rotational shaft (23).
