The invention relates to an insert which can be mounted on a car seat for a child according to one of Claims 1 to 4 of the main patent application no. 90 06089. Its shell (1) is provided with three pivoting legs, two legs, one short (2) and one longer (3) being provided on the rear face of the backrest of the insert and a third leg (4) being provided on the same face at the front of the seat, it being possible for the said insert to be used like a deckchair when the short rear leg (2) and the front leg (4) are in the separated position and the longer rear leg (3) is folded back against the shell (1), and to be used as a chair when the front leg (4) and the short rear leg (2) are folded against the shell (1) and the longer rear leg (3) is in the extended position. <IMAGE>
