Magnetic tape video recorder with heating element

A magnetic tape video recorder has a drum (90) rotated by an integral brushless motor with a stator assembly (95), into which a heating element (61) is set. The element is in the form of a PTC resistor and is isolated. The motor has a circuit plate (95a) with spacers supporting an iron laminated stator packet (95b), together with electronically commutated coils (95c). The heat from the element rises through to the rotary head drum to prevent dew point of ambient air inside machine being reached.
