A debris collecting enclosure which can be suspended from and intermittently moved along a horizontal pipe when removing asbestos lagging or other unsafe material comprises a rectangular frame with flexible sidewalls and base contains a spray system to provide a fluid curtain around the work zone. The top is open so that the operative wearing suitable protective clothing has access to the pipe. The spray water is drawn from the base of the enclosure through a grating above an outlet connected to a sand filter and recirculated to the spray heads by a pump with three downstream filters arranged in parallel.
