<p>A dispersant for use in dispersing fine particles in a medium, which contains at least one polymer selected among a modified polymer obtained by the reaction of an unsaturated polymer with an organic compound having both carboxyl and aldehyde groups in the presence of a proton acid or a Lewis acid, a polymer obtained by the coupling of anionic living polymers through a tin compound, and an isoprene polymer treated with tin tetrachloride. It can be used in the production of a wide variety of products wherein a homogeneous dispersion of various particulate substances is required, for example, magnetic recording medium, thermal transfer ink, coating material, toner for developing electrostatically charged images, and so forth.</p> |
