PURPOSE:To obtain ceramics suitable for building material from sludge incineration ash by mixing incineration ash of sewage sludge with a ceramic material containing SiO2 and Al2O3 as major components, adjusting the contents of SiO2, Al2O3, CaO and Fe2O3 to specific values, forming and sintering the mixture. CONSTITUTION:Incineration ash of sewage sludge is mixed with a ceramic material containing SiO2 as a major component and Al2O3 of 1/several SiO2 and the composition is adjusted to 41 to 66wt.% of SiO2, 11 to 18wt.% of Al2O3, 7 to 33wt.% of CaO, 2 to 8wt.% of Fe2O3 and to a CaO/SiO2 weight ratio of 0.11 to 0. 28; CaO/Al2O3 of 0.4 to 8 and Al2O3/SiO2 of 0.26 to 0. 28. The mixture is formed to a desired shape and sintered by raising the temperature with heat from room temperature to 1,100 to 1, 200 deg.C to give a ceramics having satisfactory physical properties such as mechanical strength, moisture absorption or the like as a building material. |
